Some of our staff participate in coaching to further enhance their skills.
We work to equip newly qualified teachers with the skills required to apply knowledge, values and beliefs about learning and teaching in the context of Katherine High School.
In conjunction with the school wide induction process, graduates deep-dive into some of the specific challenges faced by expert novices which include planning contextual learning, scaffolding for learners with specific educational needs and systematic classroom management strategies to name a few.
This will be achieved via the mediums of targeted observations of practice, video enabled professional development, and individualised coaching with a qualified coach.
